D.O.T = Daily Organizational Tools The D.O.T Book is a three-ring binder that students use everyday to develop organizational skills and learn responsibility. It is important to teach children how to keep up with homework, and important notes. This binder is also a way of maintaining effective communication between home and school. It aims to eliminate lost notes, organize calendars and homework as well as keep parents and students informed of important events and academic progress. EVERYTHING a student and parents need is in this binder. NO more lost notes or wrinkled papers in the bottom of backpacks! NO more lost homework or missing lunch money!
Please take very good care of your D.O.T Book. It will be used all year.
Take your D.O.T Book home with you every day and bring it to school every morning.
When you are finished with your homework, put it back in your D.O.T Book and put your D.O.T Book back in your backpack so you won’t forget it.
Keep your D.O.T Book clean. If your D.O.T Book gets ruined, you will be responsible for getting a replacement binder.
Show your D.O.T Book to your family every night.
Completed work will be sent home during the week. Please clean it out daily so that it doesn't become too full.
It is your responsibility to turn in any notes or homework from your D.O.T binder. I do not check them
Important Papers/Return to School: These are important papers or letters from me or the school. These papers may need to be signed and returned to school the very next day, so please check this pocket daily. If you need to send me a note please put it in this pocket as well as any lunch money or book orders.
Homework: This is where you will find the monthly homework calendar and
anything that is needed to complete the homework. The homework calendar
must be returned daily, with a parent signature.
To Keep At Home: In this folder you will find any work that has been completed during the week. Please empty this folder daily.
Learning Corner: In this section you will find learning guides for what we are currently working on. This section is constantly being updated, and students should refer to it if they need help with homework activities. Parents should also look through this section to see what is being taught. Please do not take anything out of this section, as we use it throughout the school week.
